“Real food (luxury food) and premium gas (purest isometric saturated hydocarbon) are for the rich to enjoy. Cheap chemical additive pretend food (material that looks and taste like food but really is not food) and low purity vehicle fuel are for the proletariat. So much for the dream of social equality.”

The Three Most Powerful Words in Management… Who knows more of the nitty-gritty details your restaurant better than anyone? Your employees do. The people who work in the trenches day in and day out have a level of understanding, the equipment they use and the way your restaurant really works that even you and your managers will understand. The problem is, many operators don’t recognize the expertise of their employees, and lose the opportunity of getting their ideas on ways to improve how things are done; and second, they lose valuable opportunities to make their employees feel involved in the business and boost morale. Encourage your managers to start treating employees as experts. You can take your staff from a group of people you’ve been trying to get more work out of, to a team of experts who can help you run your business better. One way to tap into your employees’ expertise is to ask the three most powerful words in management, “What’s your recommendation?” For example, the next time an employee comes to you with a question about how something should be done, just ask, “Well . . . what’s ‘your’ recommendation?”
